IBS starts up WebVision® system for web monitoring at Schoellershammer

International technology leader IBS Paper Performance Group has successfully started up a Papertech WebVision^® system for web monitoring supplied to Schoellershammer, Germany, for PM6.

The system consisting of 18 cameras is used for web monitoring and web break analysis and was produced in Austria by IBS. Installation, commissioning and service were carried out directly from Germany, also by IBS. Holger Schmitz, Production Manager Corrugated Base Papers at Schoellershammer's PM6, is enthusiastic: "With the installation of the Papertech Web Monitoring System, the number of unknown breaks has been significantly reduced. The excellent performance and the very precise synchronization of the individual cameras lead to significantly faster cause finding than it was before. The trustful and long-standing cooperation with IBS has successfully gained another milestone."

WebVision^® systems from Papertech have become an indispensable tool in solving and eliminating runnability problems - whether on paper, board, pulp or tissue machines. The systems reliably detect web breaks and enable the clear identification of their causes. In this way, the number of unknown defects can be reduced to a minimum and, at the same time, the efficiency of the paper machine can be significantly increased. When an incident occurs (e.g. web break), synchronized video recordings of all cameras are made available from the affected position of the paper web and stored for almost any length of time ("permanent memory"). For detailed analysis purposes, the video recordings of the last 100 hours are available for all cameras without gaps and in full number of images (Extended Video History). The use of standard components enables simple and cost-efficient maintenance, and a service contract ensures optimum availability of the system and thus of the entire plant.
